Twenty JAG Indiana high school students attended the second annual National Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla., which was held April 20th-22nd. The theme of the event was “Together Towards Tomorrow.” While at the conference, students participated in leadership sessions, attended educational workshops, competed against their peers in skill competitions, visited the college and career expo, and networked with other JAG students and employer sponsors of the event.

JAG Indiana students were active participants in the opening ceremony with Manchester High School Junior Braylon Judy serving as the Indiana flag bearer and Franklin County High School Senior, Karly Bergin, singing the National Anthem for the audience of over 1,000 people in attendance. When asked about how it felt to be in that role, Karly stated, "It was such an amazing experience. I got to meet new people from other states and listened to an absolutely amazing guest speaker at the opening ceremony. I also had the opportunity to let people hear my voice as I sang the National Anthem at the opening ceremony. 10/10 would do it again!"
Quentin Stewart, a senior at Hammond High School said, “This trip felt like it was a pivotal moment in my transition into adulthood and the real world. The main thing I learned was how to manage my time between being professional and having fun.”
Milan High School’s Madison Cavins shared her excitement of being a NCDC attendee. "I was able to network, learn, and experience so many new things involving my future career and life plans. Plus, it was in Orlando!"
